NEW SIMPLIFIED MULTI-VITAMIN NOW AVAILABLE
After many years of satisfaction with our recommendations for a
daily preventative vitamin regime I have finally found a new
multi-vitamin: Carlson Super 2 Daily™. It will probably be
better, more convenient and slightly less expensive for many people who
are currently using our supplements for health maintenance. However, it
is not intended to replace our multi-vitamin that we use for treatment
of various conditions.
It has always been difficult to find one product that had the full
complement of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants along with the natural
vitamins that are important (i.e., vitamin E and beta-carotene). Many
vitamins would have most of the ingredients but not others. And then
there was the size problem. Unfortunately, there is no way to fit
everything into one or two pills - there just isn’t enough room.
These difficulties led to our recommended multi-vitamin/mineral: Basic
Preventive 5® by Douglas Labs. But to get the full range of vitamins
and minerals and the amount of antioxidants that I want in a maintenance
vitamin you have to take 6 pills a day. Even then it does not have
enough calcium for a menopausal woman.
Consequently, until now our recommendation for health maintenance was
one tablet of Basic Preventive 5® twice a day along with one soft gel
Carlson ACES® antioxidant twice a day. This is still a great
combination but it adds up to four pills a day. (Depending on their
health and age, we also recommend that women take a calcium/magnesium
with trace elements like Calcium Complex by TheraTech.) This new health maintenance
multi-vitamin replaces the four pills of the former regime with two
pills of Super 2 Daily™ (one twice a day with meals).
Is this change best for you? Here are the issues to help you decide:
* The Super 2 Daily™ is a bit larger then the other pills but it is a
soft gel so it is relatively easy to swallow.
* It does not have any iron (this is best for most people).
* It has little calcium so many women will have to take additional
calcium such as in OsteoForte™.
* As a bonus it also has 220 mg of Omego-3 fish oils.
* One-month supply of the old regime costs $21.63 and the Super 2 Daily™
is $19.
Other then the differences listed above the two health maintenance
regimes are basically the same. For most people the Carlson Super 2
Daily™ at $19 for 60 soft gels is going to be the better and cheaper
multi-vitamin for their health maintenance regime. I highly recommend it
and have changed over myself to this new vitamin.
